You’ll see how common chord shapes come from open chords, how they move up and down a single string, and how the root location determines chord function in the key.
We’ll also introduce major and minor as a visual adjustment, showing how chord quality changes with small shape modifications while the overall structure stays the same.
By the end of this chapter, chord shapes stop feeling isolated and start functioning as connected reference points inside the key.
